Portage Benefits


Portage, Inc., offers a robust benefits package to eligible employees, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and much more. Read further for a brief description of the benefits Portage offers.


Health and Dental

Portage offers extensive health and dental insurance at reasonable rates. The health insurance plan is a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) that encourages employees to use in-network providers to help control healthcare costs. Portage provides HRA dollars to employees based on the number of covered individuals per family. These dollars will be used to cover the cost of covered medical expenses, thereby reducing the amount employees pay out-of-pocket to meet the deductible. The Portage dental package allows for cleanings at no cost once each six months for covered individuals. Other dental care needs are covered as well.


Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

Portage provides eligible employees the option to participate in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to help reduce the costs of out-of-pocket medical and/or dependent childcare expenses.



A vision care plan is also available to cover the basic vision care needs of employee families.



Employees may in enroll in 401(k) and/or Roth 401(k) retirement accounts. Employees are eligible to enroll at any time within the first 60 days of employment and quarterly thereafter. This plan allows for employer matching and a 3-year vesting schedule. Loan provisions are also available.


Paid Time Off

Employees begin accruing paid time off immediately and the holiday schedule includes all major holidays as paid holidays.


Basic and Supplemental Life

Active full-time employees are eligible for the Group Basic Life and Supplemental Life insurance plans. Basic Life insurance is provided to employees and eligible dependents by Portage at no cost to the employee. Basic Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance is provided to employees by Portage at no cost to the employee.


Short-Term Disability

Portage offers short-term disability insurance at no cost to employees. Short-term disability insurance provides employees a source of income should they become disabled due to a sickness or off-the-job injury. Long-term disability insurance provides employees with a source of income if they become disabled for a time greater than 13 weeks.


Employee Assistance Program

Whether managing everyday issues such as job pressures, relationships, retirement planning, or finding child care, or faced with grief, loss, or the impact of a disability, this program is your resource for professional support. You and your family, including spouse and dependents, have access to this program at no additional cost to you.


Employee Wellness

Portage also has a great wellness program that encourages employees to be more active and make healthier lifestyle choices. In addition, Portage offers an Active Lifestyle Program that reimburses employees for approved activities.


Education Assistance Program

Portage reimburses eligible employees for education expenses provided that the class is relevant to the work they are performing or it helps employees achieve another reasonably attainable position within the company.
